Labor Day weekend 2012

We brought Alan's mom and dad to my grandpa's cabin for Labor Day. We had lots of fun!

Day 1:

Made the trek to Johnny Sack cabin at Big Springs I hadn't been there in years its pretty cool!

And of course had to stop and see the fish!
and the muskrat.

This girl is always upside down.

Pretty sure this chair never stops spinning when we are there.

Then we decided to head into Yellowstone and go swim at the Firehole river. With some detours along the way :)

It was cold and we were dressed in our swim gear because that was our one purpose. To go to Firehole.

I seriously love her!

This place is beautiful is it not?

We opted to stay in the car while everyone else went and looked at something out in the coldness!

We finally made it and boy was it COLD! Oh man so cold. But we had promised the kids swimming so Alan, me, Gracie, Jake and Grams all braved the cold and rain and off we went!

Luckily it is more like lava hot springs. But you  have to be careful because in some of the places the water comes in the water is BOILING hot. Like scald you hot.

 Soooooooo cold!
Day 2:

Day 2 consisted of some chores :)

Then we decided to find a place and go shooting.

Setting up the targets.

Now I know some people disagree with me 100% but I was raised with guns around the house so to me its no big deal. And I feel its very important to teach your kids about guns and how they work. I feel like it takes the mystery out of them so they are less apt to play with them when the run across one an accident. (Don't mess me with me bad guys I have weapons in my house and I am NOT afraid to use them!) So we decided to take the 2 big kids and show them how its done. Gracie could've cared less after a few shots. Jake liked it a little better than she did :)

All ready to go!
Jake's first!

Then the Gracester!

Gracie was a little more timid with her shots with time in between. Jake was firing as fast as he could bam bam bam bam!
My dad.
The targets. . . .
My honey :)

Aunt Net. She's always up for an adventure!

Grampie's turn!

He looks like a professional huh?

The kids and grandma got bored long before the boys did. Thank goodness for electronics to keep them entertained.
Time to bring out the big guns.

Then back to the cabin for a little earring making :)

Campfire time!

Oh and there is always a motorcycle ride or 2 to go on.

Mmmmm pure heaven.

Day 3:
We have an ant problem. Luckily Alan was there to climb walls and ladders to get to where they were above the chimney and spray them.

After we were all done with our chores we headed back to Yellowstone where it was beautiful day!! We should've saved our swimming for this day!

Such a fun weekend. Glad we got to spend it with our favorite people!!!!
