Happy Birthday Jakey!! You're finally 3!!! Well, for Jake's birthday all he wanted was to catch a fish and eat it. Sooooo we went camping!! It was an adventure :) Sooo when we finally decided to go for sure it was too late to reserve a spot up in the Uintahs so we had to do a first come first serve basis. Well, since it was basically rush time for all of the CBR folk the only way the dad's would come is if they didn't have to take off of work. No big deal right? So Tammy and I headed up with the youngun's about noon. Stopped at Kamas for some lunch (super delicious) and then headed to find a spot. With no cell service for the boys to find us our plan was we'd shop Washington Lake, Trial Lake, and then Mirror Lake. If no luck we'd drive down the mountain and call them. Well Washington Lake was a no go. It was packed. So we headed to Trial Lake. We drove around found one that looked iffy but parked anyways (it was the ONLY one we'd seen at all) and then decided to walk around the rest to see if there was anymore. Turns out there wasn't and although it wasn't ideal it was pretty close. It was SUPER close to the bathrooms (mega plus when you're prego) and garbage can (kinda sounds stinky but it wasn't at all) in fact by the end we were all saying there probably wasn't a more perfect spot except right on the lake. So we "set up camp" which consisted of ohhhh nothing. Well, I lied we eventually set up my tent because it was a super super easy tent to set up. And waited. Tammy being super creative had brought a couple games with her (a scavenger hunt and I can't remember the other one) but that only entertained the kids for so long. So we took a few walks (I'm so sad I forgot my camera on these walks) one ended us up down at the lake where we stayed for a long time and played and played. That was fun and the bugs were WAY less down by the lake. (There were tons of bugs up there) I missed out on a lot of great pictures :( Someday I'll learn my lesson. Eventually night fell and we had to hole up in our tent because mind you there was 2 mom's a 2 (almost 3!) year old, 5,7 and 10 year old. So that meant no fire (or firewood) and only snacky food (they had a good chunk of the supplies with them). And bugs, bugs, bugs and more bugs. It was ridiculous how many bugs. But we survived until they got there ohhhh around 10:30. Ya to say we were ready to kill them is an understatement. Although we kind of wondered because at this time of year they aren't very reliable. But we survived and dinner and a fire were soon served up and then bed time.

One of the prizes :)

Day 2 -
started with bugs bugs and more bugs. We went to extreme measures trying to keep the bugs off of us. Including wearing fake snakes on our heads (the bugs really did seem to avoid the snakes weird I know.)

Hid in the tent

Had a delicious breakfast.

Caught us some fish!!

Isn't her face priceless???

Jake's fish!! Happy Birthday Jakey!!

Tammy and I actually headed back down to Kamas to fetch us some more bug spray (Really it was ridiculous how many bugs there were) while all this was happening but how fun huh?!?

after some fish catching it was time for playing in the dirt and on the rocks.

Helping Daddy again.

Getting brave enough to touch that slimy gross thing.

Ewww 2 hands even.

Back to camp for another game. Making candy necklaces :)

They all tasted like bug spray. Gross.

This is a classic Jake face. It usually means he's yelling at Gracie for something ha ha :)

Can you believe Alan had NEVER had a ding dong?? EVER?? Crazy. So this was his first one. He only ate 1. Guess he didn't love them :)

Isn't he cute? And dirty!

A homemade teeter totter. Super fun.

Notice that all of them have a stick? Ya, its their "walking stick" in case they get too tired to walk anymore. How old are we again?

This poor kid.

Ha ha fabulous picture. But hey I was there right? Gotta be in something. (Mind you I'm pregnant and sleeping in a tent on an air mattress barely meant for 2 and there's 4 of us. We definitely need to upgrade)

Daddy!

You can't really tell in the pic but he has like 6 mosquito bites back there. His poor neck was swollen for days. The bugs LOVE him.

Ahhh naptime.

We tried fishing again. It sucked. The bugs were back with a vengeance. It didn't matter the amount of bug spray I put on us there was no helping. It was awful.

Ahh Jaden. One of Jake's favorites. I'm telling you Jake would trade us for the other Martin Clan in a heartbeat.

Yum!!!

A little practice shooting.

Check out Alan's face. LOL he had just shot a squirrel accidentally on purpose.

G's naptime :)

The sunset was beautiful. All pink. Nice.

he he :) I made up for pictures on day 2.
Day 3 - Happy Birthday Jake!!!! Wow Jake. You are officially 3!! Where did the time go??? You are such a ball of energy and fun loving kid with absolutely NO fear. (someday kid you're going to realize those cars are bigger than you!) and you love to make us laugh. You'll do whatever it is over and over again as long as we're laughing. Such a fun fun kid you are. We love you and Happy Birthday!!!

Whip cream for breakfast. Delicious.

Cupcakes!!

Cleaning up.

Party time at home for those that couldn't join us for camping.

Happy Birthday big guy. Hope it was a great one :)
