Day #3 - Tupperware

Ok, so if you know my kids you know that they LOVE (love being an understatement) apple juice. Well, we ran out yesterday morning and Jake was devastated and didn't believe me. So he went searching and was soooooo excited that he found some. "Ju ma! Ju ma!" This is what he brought me. . . .
Ok so on to day 3 . . . .

Well before I do day 3 (the tupperware cabinets) I have to tackle this. . .

because I need some counter space. (I was working hard on my Day 2 project and this is what happened because I wasn't out there doing damage control.) And because it was such a fun mess by the time I was done it was time to go to work. So I actually did 2 days worth today. But man was it fun! If you ask Alan what my favorite section of Walmart is he'll tell you the aisle with all the totes and bins. And he is soooo right. I love it! So I love it that I get to shop there often for this task! I had so much fun there today looking and shopping! Love it love it!! Bins make me feel soooooo organized!

Ok so on to my tupperware cabinets. I actually did 3 because I've secretly wanted to rearrange for awhile. And that required me doing all 3. So here they are.

Everything out - The thing that's deceiving about these cabinets are they are SUPER deep. So they hold a lot more stuff than you (and I) think.

Stuff I'm chuckin'
I went downstairs to get a box and remembered I had already gone through these cabinets a little while ago and this was the result of that
And the end result

And these 2 cuties
helped me. Ha ha ya right. I couldn't wait for naptime and Gracie's playdate!

Day 2

The office - (actually the top of the desk and the top only!)

Before -
(if you look on the top drawer on the right you can see some of the marker)

The junk -
Cleaned it til it shined! (I used pledge, oh, and nail polish remover)

Organized it and threw stuff away or put it away and. . .

Wa la! The after -

So this task took me a little longer than yesterday's. Mainly because the desk is huge and it took longer to polish than it did to do the whole drawer yesterday. Didn't help that there were several different locations that had been colored on with a silver sharpie some 3 or so years ago by a cute princess, that I decided to try a little harder to get off than before. Thank you nail polish remover for at least dimming the destruction. Like a ton. Can't wait for tomorrow's task!

Fire Station

For Gracie's preschool field trip we went to the West Point fire station. I was excited because she LOVED it when she went for a friends birthday party. But I guess its because Mom was around that she had to be a pill and extra clingy. But Jake on the other hand LOVED it. Like really loved it and was so bummed when it was over! I wish I would have taken more pictures but what's the point when they turn out like some/most of these. I can't wait to get my other camera back!
This is going out to look at the trucks. Before that we were in a room where the firemen talked to us and we watched a movie. Jake was so funny and "answered" the all the questions which is really funny because if you've ever heard Jake talk you can only understand 1 out of 5 words. If your lucky. So it was really quite comical.
The poor kids in Gracie's class didn't have a chance with Jake around. He was first in line to go in the truck. And he had a hay day!! He loved it. I wish we could have spent more time there. I really do. Jake actually went through twice and convinced Gracie to go with him the last time.
Took some cute pics sitting on the bumper. . .
Then the ambulance doors came open and on went Jake again. . .
I gave up on pics after this last one. Seriously so frustrating. But Jake had a blast and by the end Gracie was having fun too. (Little stink) and Jake was visibly disappointed when it was time to go. Looks like we may have to have a fireman birthday party for him this year!

21 Day Challenge

I saw this on my friend Maria's blog and LOVE the idea (she's a girl after my own heart). I'm always feeling chaotic and overwhelmed. It comes from http://abowlfulloflemons.blogspot.com/ And oddly enough, the first task has been on my list for over 2 weeks now.

Day #1 - The Junk Drawer!

1. Find a drawer, any drawer (preferribly your junk drawer), and take a picture as it looks right now. No cheating here. We want to see chaos!
(I moved the paper so you could see the real mess)

2. Now empty the contents into a large box. ALL OF THEM! (Trust me, the box will be much easier than the counter... you can transport it).
(I'm still waiting for my repaired camera to come home so we get the old camera and its awesome blurriness)

3. Get a soapy washcloth and wipe the drawer clean.

4. Now, go collect some of those organizing containers that I had you stash away and place them in the drawer. The more containers you have, the more organized you are going to stay!

5. Set up your bins & trash can near you: one bin for "keep", the trash can bin for "toss", and the "donation box" you set aside earlier in the week.

6. Get your box of drawer contents, take a seat at the table, and start purging. Keep ONLY what you have used in the last 3 months. Toss everything else... either in the donation box or the trash.

7. After you have gone through the whole box, you can start organizing! This is the fun part. Try to keep like items together. Isn't organizing fun?

8. Now take another picture and give your self a pat on the back! Way to go... you completed challenge #1. Don't forget to come back to A Bowl Full of Lemons and share your success on THIS POST!

Ahhhh, that feels good. And it only took me 10 minutes TOPS!!
