A new method of eating

need I say more?

Christmas time!!!

So my decoration for the year, that I bought myself. A new pre-lit tree!!! Yea!!! Thank you to all the good samaritan's that loaded it into my cart for me, and then into my car, and then into my house (3 different events, 3 different samaritan's) that's what Christmas is all about and thank you for your service. I can't even tell you how much I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it!! Love it!! Here's our decorating :)

We have a small tree too that we let Gracie decorate as hers.
Everybody pose by the tree. . . ha ha

The finished product:Gracie's tree/dressermy other new trees!! I love them too!! the stairsthe pot shelf"locking" the doors so Jake can't get in.The tree minus the star (we hadn't bought one yet)
the stockingsthe mess when I went in to take a picture of Gracie's tree. And Jake's cute face telling me "cheeeeshe" see why I can't get mad at him?

My Thankful post.

I know that this is late. Like a month. But better late than never right?? I seriously feel like the Christmas season started the middle of November and hasn't slowed down for a single second. My house shows it too. But oh well!! What do you do??? Which the mass chaos is the cause for the serious lack of blogging and then the mass blogs all in one day when the kids are asleep. Or one's asleep and the other's at preschool.

So my thankful list. (I suck at writing sentimental stuff so beware)

1. Alan. He is everything I could have asked for and more. I know that I tell everyone he's never around and my life is hard (which is the truth for certain weeks of the year and for those of you that have husband's that work 80 hrs a week or who work out of town you know it is hard) but he really is amazing and he is home as much as is possible. And when he is home he's awesome. Cleaning the house, playing with the kids, doing whatever! My favorite is when I get home at 2 on Saturday's and him and the kids are in their jammies still. It makes me laugh. He works hard to provide for us and I love and appreciate him for ALL that he does for us.

2. Gracie. What else needs to be said?? She is a crazy ball of love that keeps me on my toes. She gives the best hugs ever (only if your mom though) with arms and legs wrapped around you. She reminds you of whatever it is that you forgot. Like getting her a drink of milk. Remember mom? You silly you forgot! And the instant tears that can stream down her face like her favorite toy is lost and all you did was tell her she had to wear a different shirt. She is becoming such a kid and less of a toddler and our conversations are very entertaining to say the least. What an amazing little girl. (drama and all)

3. Jake. What a BOY!! He's a crazy ball of energy that keeps me cleaning!! He's so fun and so good humored (if not a little naughty) (alright, alright he is pretty naughty) and soooooooo boy balls and throwing things and making messes and pulling Gracie's hair. Such a boy. The problem is he's too dang cute to get mad at him. You just laugh. Even though he just took a mostly full box of froot loops and instead of eating them dumped them on the floor until you can get them from him and then starts dancing on them instead of eating them!! Seriously?? He's such a cute kid though and I wouldn't trade him for anything. My favorite things about him are his cute toothy grins, the way he holds his arms behind him instead of swinging them when he runs, and the look on his face right before he tackles you :)

4. My extended family. Mom/Dad, Mom/Dad in-law, Grandma's, Grandpa's, cousins, aunts, uncles all of you!! You guys are amazing and always bring a smile to my face.

5. My house. The place where I can build a home.

6. My job. I really love teaching dance and being a role model for those girls. And doing what I love. After 24 years I'm still not sick of it.

7. In a weird way. . . Alan's job. He's learned so much from it and had so many neat experiences from it. Its fun that he loves it. He liked working at Hill but he really LOVES this and the challenge. So I'm thankful for it because it makes him happy.

8. My computer. My relief from the world of reality.

9. Friends.

10. and so much more that I can't even think of so maybe I'll add to this as I think of them.

Happy Birthday to me!!

So my b-day landed on a Monday. Which means work for both me and Alan. Yippee. On my way home from work I call Grandma to make sure the kids have been picked up to which the reply is "he just left" so I get home and the house is sparkeling clean. Cafe Rio is in the oven being kept warm and the kids are in bed. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh the life!!! So we sit down take a picture of the creative wrapping job.
Me and the box (remember I just got home from teaching dance)
And out walks little Gracie. "I'm hungry mom" So we take a picture with her too.
And its an . . . . . . . itouch!!! Yea!!! I've needed a new ipod forever and if I'm going to get a new one why not a good one!! It is seriously the coolest thing ever! I love it!! And I use it almost every day!!! Awesome!! Then the other baby is crying in his crib. He must be hungry too. So we get him up too and both kids eat like they are starving and then back to bed and now its movie night!! Ghost of Girlfriends Past (I liked it. I know some didn't but I thought it was cute, not one I'll buy but cute) Good job babe!! An awesome birthday!! (and nice try on the kids. A for effort!) Love ya!!

Thanksgiving in Idaho

So for the Yearsley side of the family we usually do a Thanksgiving dinner the weekend before or after the week of Thanksgiving. This year it was the week before. And as always good times ;) and GREAT food. I honestly love Thanksgiving. Maybe its because I love food or that it is pretty dang close to my b-day (or on my b-day) or maybe its the time spent with family. I don't know but it sure is one of my favorite holidays. And since the chance of us seeing our Kaitlynn or Cody before Christmas is slim we also exchange presents!!! (The ones I was wrapping when we made Gracie's skirt.) So here's a few pictures of our fun. My only regret. . . . there's never enough time to visit or just hang and relax with the family (could be because of the two 3 year olds and two 16 month olds running around). Merry Thanksgiving?!?
This is my favorite!! Whenever you bust out a camera (and he's not cranky) he'll totally "cheeeeeshe" it up for you. It's the cutest.Kaitlynn wasn't too happy that Gracie got the barbie and she got the hair flowers and clothes (I know who picked her present? But I didn't realize she didn't own any barbies (we're going to fix that :) ha ha) so ya. I'll do better next time :)
Plus I thought her shirt was super cute it was all sparkly and said princess or something cute on it. I really liked it!
I'm terrible and I don't remember what I got Cody . . . maybe some more clothes???
We had the color book colored by the time we were home.
Pictures are out of order :) ha ha sorry!

Thanks we love you guys!! And I always love family functions!! The laughter, the politics, and yes, even the drama because yes we are a dramatic family. . . .

My Christmas Skirt :)

We had a few presents to wrap before we headed to Idaho for Thanksgiving and this is Gracie's creation from the scraps. . . .

She would kind of get frustrated when she tried to sit or do some stuff because there's not much give to a paper skirt :) but it was fun for an afternoon.

Disney on Ice!!

So I was incredibly brave and knowing that Alan would be camping with the scouts bought Gracie and I tickets to Disney on Ice. And of course Jake came but he didn't need a ticket. It was an adventure to say the least. We got all dressed and ready to go and headed out. After our stop at the gas station we hit the freeway. All was great til we hit the Beck Street exit I kept thinking Oh I should get off here but changed my mind because we always take the 6th north or south or whatever it is. So I keep driving and I find the sign that says that my exit is closed so I get over to get off at the 4th north or south. (I don't drive in Salt Lake very much) Mind you this whole time Gracie's telling me "Hurry or they'll be done skating" so I'm over in the exit only lane and all of a sudden everybody is slamming on their brakes. Smoke is flying, tires are screeching, cars are going all different directions. Lucky for me, as I'm dodging the car in front of me, the lane next to me is open (or we would have sooo crashed) so I miss my exit and am luckily still in tact. (Apparently, everybody else that was going to Disney on Ice wanted that exit too and it was way backed up) So as I'm driving away from the scene my heart is pounding I'm totally shaking and Gracie goes "What was that? That was fun!! Can we do it again?" Can we do it again?? Are you kidding me kid? So I miss my exit and have no idea where I'm going. Somehow I end up on the 201 westbound (I do know that road magically) get onto I-215 get off on some 7th street exit wind through some kinda scary stuff and it magically pops me out onto the 6th street exit I was trying to get to this whole time. So now I'm really praying its like 10 to 7 which is start time. Gracie's freaking out because I never turned around (when we go places I have to turn around a lot because I forget EVERYthing!) "They're going to be done skating mom! I'm not going to see the princesses skate!" So I'm doing some serious praying (for reals) I circle some blocks by the ESA and I decided to pull into one across the street. I pay the guy and I drive in and it is just a little parking lot and I round the corner and another worker stops me and tells me, The stall on the very end is open and its right next to the sidewalk that will take you across the street. HALLELUJAH! My first success of the night. And it was seriously one of the best parking spots you can get (in my opinion) I didn't have to walk very far at all!! Which is good since I was packing Jake and the diaper bag and trying to hang on to Gracie. So now its like 3 mins to 7 and we're rushing in and we get in the door and I give some usher guy my tickets and he tells me right through that door (the one in right in front of me) about 1/2 way down. AMAZING!! Victory #2! I seriously walked out of my car across the street in the first door I came to and into the door in front of me. We made it.The kids loved it!! Gracie sat eating her icee drink the whole time (yes I paid $12 for it but it was well worth it. We use the "princess" cup every day) At intermission Jake was pointing at the icee going "uh uh" you could totally tell he was going where did they go? I wasn't done yet! Fabulous time. Well worth the crazy driving and time to go. Although next time Alan will drive and I won't take the kids alone. Because afterwards Gracie was tired and wanted me to carry her and it was a fight to get pj's on because I knew they would both fall asleep in the car (which they did) and it was kind of a struggle to get out of there. Luckily we were parked close by :) Good times.
