I have a confession. . .

I have a confession. I'm sooo super baby hungry its ridiculous. I know I'm prego and one is coming my way soon but seriously?? Is there anything better than a newborn? Not in my eyes. Yes the 1st 6 weeks are hard trying to get everyone on the same schedule but the innocence of that newborn. You don't ever get that back. And their cries. Oh their sweet little cries. Even in the middle of the night. Newborn cries don't bug me. There is usually a quick fix for whatever is the matter. And they are just sweet as can be.

I'm thinking all of this is coming from having Jake. I'll start at the beginning for those of you who don't know the story.

Thing 1 comes alongDaddy works at Hill Air Force Base. You know one of those cushy jobs. Well, he's able to take 2 weeks off. Its just me and G throughout the day once he does go back to work and life is easy. 1 kid to 1 mom and dad home by 4. Well thing 2 joins the picture
Gracie's barely over 2. A spitfire (if you've met her you know she still is!) and full of energy. And well, Daddy's job has changed. He now owns his own company that has super busy times of the year. (We call them "the rush") there is one every time semesters change or school ends or starts at colleges. Well rushes are he**. Literally. At first it meant a month straight of living off 2 hrs of sleep a night. Now that we are bigger and have a lot more employees it means he's usually home by 2 am. (no Friday's or holidays off like the base. Ahhh I miss those days) Well. We didn't time Jake very good. We had him July 31st. Took our 2 nights in the hospital (I love staying at the hospital. I know its weird but its recovery time for me and I take full advantage of it) part of which Alan had to work (constantly on the phone. He had to leave for 1/2 a day to do an interview in Salt Lake blah blah blah) well then we go get Gracie and head home. He, literally, helps me get in the house and then says "I have to go to work" so here I have a 2 day old baby and a wild crazy 2 year old princess who just had her world rocked. Wow talk about nervous breakdowns galore. But we survived and Jake seems normal :) but I did miss out on those sweet moments of him being a newborn. I didn't get to love on him like I would have liked to but he still loves me and its ok. (And he is still the snuggliest baby ever! He loves to be held and hugs and kisses. So I take advantage of that now) but I'm ready to enjoy a newborn and love on her and watch my kids love on her.

Well, the moral of my story is please don't think I'm crazy if you have a baby and I'm doing everything in my power to get it from you so I can hold it!! Cause I sure am ready for this one to come out so I can have her to myself!

Baby's name

So Gracie has been coming up with names for the baby ever since we found out it was a girl. Some have been Lily, Leasha, Mayia but our new favorite - Lucifer. LOL are you for real? She came out from playing and said so very seriously "Mom, you know what we should name our new baby girl? Lucifer." I was laughing so hard. Even better was the look on her face when I explained who Lucifer was. Good times.

Kindergarten 1st day part 1 :)

Alrighty the "1st day of Kindergarten" what a crock. No really. What a joke. These poor kids are probably the only age that's excited to go to school and they get COMPLETELY jipped. Like completely. I mean you go you take the pictures and for us we had our parents mtg while the kids played outside and then you were done. That's it. Barely an hour. Wow. What a let down. (At least for mine) AND THEN to top it off you don't go back again for reals for a week. We went back for a 1/2 hour for testing and that was it. By the time Gracie really got to school she wasn't all for it anymore. She's actually really funny about it. If you even bring up school or her backpack she instantly says "I hate school" BUT (knock on wood) I never have to fight her on picking her clothes out for the next day, or waking her up, or going. So I think she secretly likes it but likes to be defiant in her own cute way lol. Anyways here's our first day experience:

Mmm breakfastShe wanted cereal. . . . and to make funny faces :)

all dressed up and ready to go!How sad is this too? I've been telling Gracie all summer that her favorite friend Jenny will be taking her to school. Well, on the first day I was obviously planning on taking her 1- I had to go anyway for orientation and 2- its her first day. Well, 10 mins before we're leaving Gracie starts wondering why I'm going and why can't Jenny take her? So since it was her first day I talked to Jenny and she took her for me and I just met her there. Little stink. But its what she wanted. So here's the kids waiting for Jenny to come. (Jake was pretty sad he didn't get to go with Jenny too poor kid wants to go to school sooo bad.)

And waiting for instructions :)

By the way I love, love, love her teacher. She's awesome. So good with the kids. On top of things. Been teaching forever. I really like her!

Randomness (A lot of randomness)

This is my friends cute baby that just wouldn't stop hugging

I just thought he looked so perfect and sweet in this picture :)

And these I thought wow we have some good lookin' kids better take some pics :) Except Jake won't hold still so you get what you get!

We went to lunch the other day and took a happy face picture because we were having lunch and a sad face picture because Daddy couldn't be there. (This is during rush time when we go days without seeing the poor man).
Ahhhh
Mickey goes everywhere with us.

Shoot gun!!
Water balloons!!

Who knows???
Jake's first time roller skating.

And of course another swimming one :)

The Mayan

After a weekend of wedding receptions (we had 4. Yes 4. Talk about a not fun weekend for kids and all involved) the last reception was out in West Jordan so we decided to hit the Mayan for dinner on the way home. Yes the food is gross but that was the best behaved the kids have ever been at a restuarant. Fun times!

Enjoying Jake's birthday spoils :)

Jake had been asking and asking and asking for a "swimming pool for his home" but when I finally got around to shopping for it the season was over! BUT when we were shopping for bug spray when we were camping I came across the exact one I wanted!! He was stoked!!

Lagoon with Grams

We love Lagoon!! We went a few times with Grams. This is Jake and Grams on Rattlesnake Rapids. Jake loves it. Gracie does NOT. At all. Weirdo. After a few rides we hit the beach.
Good times :)
