City of Rocks

We have kept soooo busy this July. In between all our weekend activities we still go swimming and to Lagoon and Alan still goes to work. Its mass chaos really. But one of the weekends we decided to go camping with Ken and Tammy and family to City of Rocks. Its in Idaho somewhere all back roads like 55 mph speed limit. Your driving and then BAM out of nowhere a bunch of rocks. Its really a cool place. So I'll kind of just tell the story as the pictures go :)We arrived :)
Jaden and Jake playing kick the tree or something destructive like that. The girls loved riding their bikes up and down the trail to our campsite and around all over the place! But man if you biffed it, it rocked your world. As seen in the next picture. . . .Jake was trying to get off his little bike and somehow it tipped over and he got an owie :( and he was very dramatic about it. It was pretty funny. He was totally limping and whimpering. I didn't get the best part on film but it was funny. We were totally laughing at him!
The boys played in the soot. Gross. And soooo messy. Jake was always covered in it. The fire pit had a metal BBQ rack thing over it and Jake liked to try and climb on it. It was so messy.
Jaden's the fun one :)The girls playing. Doesn't Gracie give the best dirty looks. She has hundreds of them stored away.
The boys and their slingshot. I'm not sure whoever finally won but somebody owes them lunch!
Once we were set up we went exploring and found this neat place behind our campsite. It was so fun and the kids could have played forever out there. It was a lot of work for us mom's though because Jake has no fear and the girls were just full of energy and all over the place and it was scary because you didn't know if it was a drop off or not over the next rock. But it was fun for the kids and we probably should've spent more time at it but we're slackers and we didn't.
And of course the biggest reason we went. Rock climbing. I really hope Alan and the boys enjoyed the rock climbing because this trip was A LOT of work for me. A LOT. Jake was a lot of work on this trip. It was fun. Don't get me wrong. It just wasn't a trip designed with a 2 year old in mind :)How on earth are we going to climb up that??Ahhhh :)
Jake had to remind us constantly of his "owie"
Seriously? Are we done yet?
Tammy and I climbed too! But of course no pictures. My camera died and who's going to take pictures if I'm the one climbing! So that was our fun, hot, exhausting, dirty camping weekend. We came home Sunday to having to finish up grocery shopping for scout camp and having to pack Alan for a week long scout camp. Poor guy was camped out by the end of the week! And man was it a long week!
