4th of July

WARNING: Remember this is kinda my journal so you might think the stories are lame but ya sorry :)

Soooooo Alan's mom was watching the kids for us one night while we went to the temple and I had picked up Alan from work to go so we had two cars and he went to get the kids while I did a little grocery shopping and it took Alan FOREVER to get home. Finally he called and I guess about a half hour before we got there Jake fell in the bathroom and had bitten completely through his tongue. It hadn't gone through the sides so it was still intact minus the gaping hole in the middle and he had teeth marks in his lip and I don't know what it's called but the piece of skin from your top lip to like your gum was sliced to. He was jacked. The ask a nurse people said where it didn't come off there was no reason to stitch it and the best thing to do was to get him to sleep BUT whatever we did no bottle, binkie or sippy cup. Every time he sucked on something it would open right back up. Are you freaking kidding me????? How do I get an 11 month old to sleep without a bottle, binkie or sippy cup? It took awhile but he finally did get to sleep and these are pics of the next day. Its hard to see cause it was so far back but if you look close enough you can tell. And the crazy thing is how much better it looks and its only the next day. I wish we would've gotten a picture the night of so you could see the change. Crazy how fast!Parade #2 - Gracie with her fave teacher Dallace
Fireworks! We had a BBQ in Mtn Green with Ken and Tam and as usual it was yummy! Then fireworks in Morgan they were so so. Had we not been sitting right under them they wouldn't have been very good. Jake was so tired he was just silly but once the fireworks started he just watched. Both kids are fans of fireworks Gracie asks often if we can go to the fireworks again. Can't wait for next year!
Our attempt at a family pic :)
We couldn't figure out why not very many people were parked or sitting where we were but we later found out it was because they let the entire school parking lot out first and make everyone behind wait. We sat in the car for like 45 minutes. It was awful the kids had fallen asleep and they hadn't been asleep very long when Gracie woke back up and had to go to the bathroom and there was none around. Not even a porta potty and she absolutely refuses to go on the grass. There's no talking her into it. Believe me we've tried so she keeps crying and telling us "Hurry I'm going to pee my pants" So it seems like she's been crying forever and we start moving and we get to the gas station as fast as we can and Alan all but rips her out of the car and runs in and stops at the bathrooms . . . . they're closed. The lady starts talking "sorry they're closed for cleaning" and Alan's talking at the same time "she's really gotta go" before either finishes Gracie starts going. Poor thing couldn't hold it any longer. Alan just hurried and went in to let her finish and left a puddle for them because we figured they were just being jerks and not wanting people to use the bathroom after fireworks. Cause they definitely weren't cleaning them. So because of that and it was so late by that time we headed home and didn't do fireworks with Ken and Tam. But. . . . . we did the next day!

Until next time :)
